Terms of Service

Effective date: April 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ezlate (the "Service"), available at ezlate.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ezlate. Your continued use of the Service following any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Description of Service

ezlate is a free, AI-powered voice translation platform. Users create private rooms, share invite links, and exchange voice messages that are translated in real time across 31+ supported languages.

The Service uses third-party technologies including OpenAI for speech recognition and translation, and Microsoft Edge TTS for speech synthesis. Voice data is processed temporarily on our servers solely for the purpose of translation and is deleted immediately after processing.

The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must sign in using Google Sign-In. By doing so, you authorize us to access basic profile information (your name, email address, and profile picture) provided by Google.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your account when using the Service. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to a violation of these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You may not:

  • Use the Service to transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service
  • Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or any form of unsolicited communication
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the data contained therein
  • Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, logos, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by ezlate and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the ezlate name, logo, or trademarks without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the voice messages and content you submit through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process your voice data solely for the purpose of providing translation services. This license terminates immediately upon completion of the translation process.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in the Privacy Policy. In summary: we collect minimal data necessary to operate the Service, we do not sell your personal information, and voice data is processed temporarily for translation and deleted immediately.

7. Encryption & Security

What is end-to-end encrypted: Conversation data stored in our database (translated audio and message history) is encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM before it leaves your device. The encryption key is generated when a room is created and is embedded in the invite link fragment (the part after #), which browsers do not transmit to servers. Only participants who hold the invite link can decrypt this stored data; we cannot.

What is not end-to-end encrypted: To transcribe, translate, and synthesize your voice, we have to process the audio server-side and send it to third-party providers (OpenAI for transcription and translation, Microsoft for speech synthesis). During this short processing window, the audio and the resulting text exist in plaintext in memory and are transmitted over TLS to those providers. Temporary files on our server are deleted immediately after each request completes. We do not log or persist audio, transcripts, or translations on our servers.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data during transmission or processing, and you acknowledge this risk when using the Service.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Translation accuracy depends on third-party AI models and may vary. You should not rely on the Service for critical, medical, legal, or emergency communications.

We make no representations about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any translations provided through the Service. AI-powered translations may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EZLATE AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated through the Service interface or via the email address associated with your Google account.

Your continued use of the Service after any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute with us, please click here to contact us before starting any formal proceeding. We will try in good faith to resolve the matter with you directly.

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, it may be brought before the competent courts of the operator's country of residence. However, if you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction whose law entitles you to do so, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you retain the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of that country. The European Commission also provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Termination & Account Deletion

You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and associated data, use the account deletion page or click here to ask us to delete it for you. Once deletion is complete, your account data is removed from Firebase Authentication and any associated records are purged.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continued operation of the Service becomes impractical. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law & Dispute Resolution) will continue to apply after your account is deleted or the Service is terminated.

13. General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms, for example in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; in that case we will give you reasonable notice.

Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at third-party providers, internet or telecommunications failures, natural disasters, or government actions.

Language. These Terms are provided in English. Translations, if any, are provided for convenience; in case of conflict, the English version prevails.
